Truth in photography...a slightly academic paper

Truth is an increasingly compromised 'commodity' our western civilised so called democracy. Photojournalism and documentary photography have traditionally been the bastions of visual truth by providing us with images that represent the real event...or do they? We would be forgiven if now days we come across images that we are suspicious of and find questionable in relation to objective events. There is good reason to be: Photography has long duped us into believing that what is shown in a photo is actually the real event and truth. Read on to explore more:
